From 1854 to the present day, the Douglas Flat Schoolhouse has served the community near Murphys as a school, event venue and meeting hall.

Celebrate your party, wedding, or other special event in the heart of Northern California’s Gold Country at our charming historic school house near Murphys. Rent the hall for regular club meetings by the hour.

Your donation ensures the survival of this remarkable Northern California Gold Rush venue, allowing future generations to celebrate unique reunions, weddings and events amidst its scenic beauty and rich history.
With our foundation rebuilt, DFCC will focus on many other preservation treatment projects. Our projects and budget needs will be reviewed at our annual meeting to be held at the Historic Douglas Flat Schoolhouse, 1330 Main Street Douglas Flat near Murphys and Angels Camp in northern California. The meeting will be held Monday July 6, 2026 at 6 PM. All citizens of Calaveras County may join DFCC for a $10 membership fee. Members vote on directors and influence the programs available at the Schoolhouse.
